Our story with Derek started many years ago at a local handmade market in downtown Raleigh, but the collaboration between 440 Gentleman Supply and Raleigh Motor is just getting started.
This is Derek's story. And we're thrilled to be able to finally share it! In the coming year we will document our collaboration as he builds custom hand made leather pieces for our build, but while you wait to see what's next, please watch and share his story!
Special thanks to Derek, Brett Abramsky, Jenna Slawson, Tim Keirnan, and Sean Keeley for all their help with bringing this video to life!
About three years ago, we ran into Derek Keller of 440 Gentleman Supply selling his wares at a local handmade event here in Raleigh. We were immediately drawn to the quality and craftsmanship of his work, as well as his dedication to building gear and accessories completely “off the grid” by hand or in the case of his sewing machine, by foot.
Derek launched his collection of hand-crafted “manful” goods back in January of 2013 and has been busy cranking out small batch, one-of-a-kind gear and clothing accessories ever since. His leather goods are all hand-cut, punched, and stitched here in Raleigh and are designed with the intention of lasting a lifetime.
Our collaboration is just getting started, but we could not be more thrilled to be working with Derek on pieces for our 1971 Honda CB350 project bike. Stay tuned as we document the build and work with Derek to design pieces that make our build truly unique. In the meantime, if you're looking to purchase some if his fine products visit 440gentlemansupply.com and check out his artist spotlight video here.
